Native smartphone interface with CellTrak reduces potential for fraud and enables accurate, real-time care plan access for improved care coordination

ATLANTA – October 7, 2014 –Brightree®, the leading provider of cloud-based clinical, business management and billing software solutions for the post-acute care industry, today announced it has expanded the breadth of its interoperability capabilities with an interface to CellTrak Technologies, a leading provider of integrated mobile solutions for the home healthcare, hospice and private duty markets. The interface enables home health agencies and hospice organizations with growing private duty businesses to easily track aides via a native smartphone application and document more efficiently and accurately with real-time access to care plans, resulting in improved workflow efficiencies, reduced costs, improved care coordination and decreased potential for fraud.

Brightree’s interface with CellTrak arms homecare providers with an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) solution that allows aides and personal care workers to optimize workflow – from scheduling and aiding care plans to staff alerts and reporting – seamlessly directing the information to document against the patient’s care plan within Brightree Home Health or Brightree Hospice solutions. In addition, the interface automatically verifies where calls originate through GPS tracking, generating real-time alerts for scheduling and managing staff with exceptions, including late or missing visits.

“We are excited to be part of the expanding portfolio of an integrated solution that Brightree is providing to the home care community across the US,” said Michael K. Wons, president and CEO of CellTrak Technologies, Inc. “The new partnership will provide home care organizations with a unique tool that will help them overcome cost and compliance challenges, while making their day-to-day tasks more streamlined. At the end of the day, our goal is to give home care staff the tools they need to take their mind off of processes and costs, and provide quality patient care – this is happening through our relationship with Brightree, an emerging leader in this space.”

The newly expanded capabilities enable home care organizations to:

  • Utilize accurate, real-time feedback of start-time, end-time and services provided from the patient’s home to protect against fraud and missed visits;
  • Reduce costs by cutting down on the need for aides to travel to and from the office;
  • Streamline documentation for the whole care team by eliminating the need to transcribe aid visits; and
  • Receive quicker payments by speeding the payroll and billing process.

“Home care organizations are facing a challenging market environment in which the volume of patients, paperwork and regulatory requirements is increasing, but margins and reimbursements for providing care are decreasing,” said Chris Watson, chief strategy officer at Brightree. “For nearly ten years, CellTrak has been at the forefront of improving access to healthcare with more than one million successful home care visits, and this interface will enable more agencies to stay competitive and compliant while reducing costs and decreasing the potential for fraud.”

“We are committed to a robust interoperability strategy that includes interfaces with third-party solution providers like CellTrak, but also works on behalf of the entire post-acute care community to facilitate the exchange of important patient data and documents to provide a more cost-effective, high quality outcome for the patient,” continued Watson.

The interface works with a variety of mobile operating systems including Apple® iOS, Android™, and Blackberry®, and supports all wireless carriers and networks. The interface will be generally available to home care providers later this year. For more information, please contact Brightree at info@brightree.com.

Brightree will be exhibiting its Home Health and Hospice solutions in Booth #925 at the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) Conference and Exposition on October 19-22 in the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix.
