Schaumburg, IL (June 1, 2010) - Capital Hospice, one of the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit providers of advancing illness care and comfort, recently turned to CellTrak's Point-of-Care Technology to help their home care aides deliver top service to patients and families in the greater Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

Faced with a rapidly expanding business base -- Capital Hospice serves more than 1,000 people each day - the organization decided to deploy CellTrak to substantially shrink its paper processes, conserving resources while improving the safety of their aides moving independently throughout the region.

CellTrak's integrated home health point-of-care mobility and administration system enables efficiencies with scheduling, staff management, time and attendance, GPS and directions, while delivering a patient-specific care plan at the point of care.

According to Capital Hospice President and CEO Malene Davis, CellTrak "improved accuracy in recording mileage, reducing our mileage reimbursements by 29 percent and saving us hundreds of thousands of dollars. We also have cut administrative data review and processing time by 89 percent. We now know where our staff is at all times, which is vital to keeping them safe. And, being able to export the visit directly into our clinical, billing and payroll system is a 'green' solution conserving natural resources. All of these benefits are very important to us."

Diane Lyons Rigsby, Capital Hospice CIO, was introduced to CellTrak in 2008. "CellTrak is a very innovative company in mobile healthcare. The smart phone has advanced to have many business applications and there are many EMR systems on the market. With CellTrak we have taken a giant leap forward to connect a mobile system on a handheld with our secure EMR wirelessly. Our home health aides now document their visits real-time from across our service area and no longer need to send paper records to one of 7 offices for data entry. This is progress. This is streamlined electronic communication at its best. Many thanks to the CellTrak team - a very inspiring group to work with."

Field Clinical Supervisor Donna Mitchell, RN, adds, "The aides love CellTrak, particularly the electronic charting, so they can spend more time at the bedside."

"We are honored to be selected by leading hospice organizations like Capital Hospice," said Michael K. Wons, President and CEO of CellTrak Technologies. "Our goal is to provide industry leading solutions to automate paper workflow, improve office and field worker productivity, achieve the highest level compliance and improve the delivery of care. Capital Hospice continues to be a leading user of advanced mobile solutions for improving the process of delivering care at the point of care."
