Research in Motion® Provides a Client Case Study on the Advantages of using CellTrak in Home Health Care

Chicago--(BUSINESS WIRE) --February 16, 2009- CellTrak Technologies partnership with Research in Motion® (RIM) has had a positive impact on business processes for one of their mutual clients, ParaMed. By running the CellTrak mobile application on BlackBerry® devices, clients gain immediate access to all the pertinent patient info immediately after each visit. Clients are eliminating paper and manual processes for field staff and office administrators.

The CellTrak application has been created to improve almost every aspect of a care worker’s visit to a patient. For example, scheduling has been automated and improved. Appointments no longer have to be scheduled by phone calls and faxes. Now, without all the calling, a care worker accepts a schedule change through the application sent from the scheduling system. Using the CellTrak application, a care worker indicates when they are leaving their home and logs in and out when they’ve arrived and left a patient’s home. They can also complete their visit notes on the BlackBerry Device. Patient information is transmitted back to the office in real time versus waiting on the paperwork to be turned in. GPS is also playing a significant role in managing mileage driven, proving visits took place, and in reducing overall operating expenses. All visit times are now automated and accurate due to elimination of self reported paper forms.
