VNA-logoSchaumburg, IL (August 16, 2011) - The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky emphasizes the human touch in providing services to patients and clients in their own home setting. The VNA works in thousands of homes each year, with an average daily census of 1,400 patients. They have a mission to enable patients to maintain their dignity within their home whenever possible, and assist them in gaining self-sufficiency and independence.

VNA Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky recently upgraded to the latest version of the CellTrak™ Mobile Visit Manager Solution. A CellTrak customer since early 2009, the agency was seeking to enhance the current value of the mobile solution for its homecare aides. This included implementing the latest care plan features along with the mobile point of care technologies from CellTrak. The solution is in use for over 100 homecare aides and includes scheduling, aide, patient and care plan data that is integrated from Delta Health Technologies’ Encore solution.

Ginny Jump, IT Manager and Privacy Officer at Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Cincinnati and Northern KY shared “The efficiencies gained from the use of the CellTrak mobile point of care solution are important to our business. The tight integration and open architecture that CellTrak provides allows us to manage our homecare staff amazingly well, in addition the ability to electronically verify a visit and the successful execution of the visit paperwork help make sure our patients are the best served in the industry.”

Homecare, which is the most efficient means to provide care is funded and reimbursed by Medicaid and Medicare. Home is meant to be a place of safety, healing and trust and VNA keeps it that way, for patients, their families and their physicians. It has been the VNA’s mission for more than 100 years. The VNA is the largest and most experienced nonprofit home health care agency in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky with highly skilled professionals that all have one goal in mind, helping you or your loved one remain at home and be as healthy and self-sufficient as possible.

Michael K. Wons, President and CEO of CellTrak Technologies added, “The VNA of Greater Cincinnati and Northern KY has long been a leader in providing the best care for patients. The use of the integrated CellTrak and Delta Health Technologies Solutions helps improve the management of the staff that provides care via our mobile applications platform which enables the VNA to spend more time on care and less time on paperwork”.

In addition to patient specific care plans the GPS features available as part of the CellTrak solution offering takes the guess work out of calculating mileage. GPS tracks the mileage to and from each patient’s home and immediately stores it in the system. It also gives staff members the ability to get directions from wherever they are to a patient’s home.
