Schaumburg, IL -- (News Wire) – November 9, 2010. CellTrak Technologies Inc. in conjunction with HInext have launched a new partnership focused on data standards and data aggregation that will improve outcome based care data analysis for Home Healthcare. The new partnership will help support and provide a foundation for evidence based practice and quality care.

"The partnership between HInext, a Toronto-based software development company, and CellTrak, a US and Canadian-based company specializing in integrated mobile solutions for home health care, is exciting in its potential to significantly advance work in outcome based care for initiatives such as HOBIC. I also believe that this partnership will enable HInext and CellTrak the opportunity to significantly extend their outcome based work in mental health,” highlighted Diane Doran, RN, PhD, FCAHS, Professor, Scientific Director, Nursing Health Services Research Unit (Toronto site) Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Nurse Senior Researcher Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing.

The new partnership is focused on Outcome based care systems and the importance of standard measures including HOBIC and InterRAI. The new solution offering provided by CellTrak and HInext is focused on the gathering and analysis of data for nursing assessment, reassessment and discharge activities with common measurements.

HOBIC is the acronym for Health Outcomes for Better Information and Care, an initiative of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in Canada. Similar to the standards defined and utilized in the US around OASIS the objective of HOBIC is to introduce a short set of standardized measures of patient status into nurses’ admission and discharge assessments. InterRAI is a collaborative network of researchers in over 30 countries committed to improving health care for persons who are elderly, frail, or disabled. With a goal is to promote evidence-based clinical practice and policy decisions through the collection and interpretation of high quality data about the characteristics and outcomes of persons served across a variety of health and social services settings. More information on interRAI can be found at: www.interrai.org

Peter Catford CEO of HInext shared, "I am delighted at this opportunity to collaborate with CellTrak. Together we can provide better and more timely information across the continuum of care."

“The Outcome Based Care information gathered and analyzed in a common way enables the care teams to be more effective than stand alone, silo’d and unconnected systems. With CellTrak’s mobile Outcome based eCare solution and the integration architecture provided by HInext, the new solution will help enable more cost effective care and thorough the analysis of outcome data”, added Michael K. Wons, President and CEO.

With evidence changing rapidly, this innovation will facilitate communication and integration at the front line and improve care at the point-of-care.
